Harvey Leroy Edwards, age 72, passed away Tuesday, June 28, 2016, at his home. He was born in Bladen County on January 7, 1944. He served honorably in the NC National Guard and was later employed with Liberty Life Insurance Company and was a member of LUTC Life Underwriters. He was also a member of Long Branch Baptist Church and served as a board member of Lumber River Old Iron Tractor Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Norman & Ora Lee Edwards.
He is survived by his wife, Joann Lee Edwards of the home; his son and granddaughter, Ivan Leroy Edwards & Caelen Edwards, of Gastonia; 1 brother, Norman “NJ” Edwards of Benson; 1 sister, Catherine Cartner of Bladenboro.
A time of visitation will take place on Friday, July 1, 2016, from 6:00-8:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc. of Lumberton.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 2, 2016, at 2:00 PM at Long Branch Baptist Church with Rev. Brett Young & Rev. Graylen Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow at Meadowbrook Cemetery.
