Murphy Jr., Edward J., of Westminster, passed away on April 1, 2010, after a battle with lung cancer. He is survived by his wife, Michelle; his sister and brother-in-law, Lynda and Mike Brewer; his nephew, Cameron Brewer; and his niece and great-niece, Danielle and Trinity Brewer. Murf was a retired LAPD detective, who served actively in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War and remained in the Navy Reserve for over two decades. He was also a private investigator and worked for Securitas. Services will be held at Westminster Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, April 6 and funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 7. The family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society in lieu of flowers.
