Ben was born November 29, 1983 in Cloquet, the son of William and June (Mackey) Gerard. He was a 2002 graduate of Esko High School and was looking forward to enlisting in the military very soon.
He attended Cloquet Gospel Tabernacle. Ben dearly loved his family and will always be remembered by his brothers and sister as being a great brother.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Clifford Mackey.
Ben is survived by his parents, Bill and June Gerard of Esko; his sister, Emily Gerard of Minneapolis; his two brothers, Peter Gerard of Minneapolis and Tim of the home; his maternal grandmother, Amelia "Millie" Mackey of Cloquet; his paternal grandparents, Frank and Norma Gerard of Pike Lake and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Funeral services were held Saturday, February 8, 2003 in Cloquet Gospel Tabernacle. Arrangements entrusted to Northland Funeral Home, 801 14th Street, Cloquet.
