William F. Wagner, Jr., 75, of 527 Seitz Ave., Mayville, died Thursday, March 23, 2000, at St. Agnes Hospital.

He was born July 1, 1924, in Knowles, a son of William and Belle Sheridan Wagner Sr.

On June 11, 1949, he married Fern Kohnke in Fond du Lac.

Mr. Wagner was employed as a maintenance mechanic at Mayville Metal, retiring in 1992. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Mayville, a member of Lutheran Brotherhood. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Ari Force from 1941 to 1945 in England, where he received a medal of honor, he was also a member of the Mayville American Legion Post 69.

Survivors include his wife, Fran; four children, Delores Okon of Madison, Sandra (Tim) Martinsen of Maryville, Dale Wagner of Pewaukee and Sheryl (Michael) Sigl of Black Creek; one brother, Edward (Mary) Wagner of Brownsville; three sisters, Bernice (Gilbert) Youngbeck of Mayville, Alene Steinhorst of Horicon and Shirley (Norman) Scola of Fond d Lac; six grandsons; two great-granddaughters; nieces; nephews; and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Violet and Katie; and two brothers, Lawrence and Jerry.

Entombment will be at Shrine of Rest Mausoleum in Fond du Lac. Graveside military rites will be conducted by the Mayville American Legion Post 69.
