Ruth Fondren Kennedy, 100, of Chesapeake, Va., died Sunday.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Surviving are three grandchildren, Fondie Rittman of Chesapeake, Maynard Mangum III of Richmond, Va., and Michael Mangum of Kitty Hawk, N.C.; a sister, Dorothy Bloxham of St. Simons Island; five great-grandchildren, Brett Mangum, Jamie Mangum, Erica Mangum, Jordan Mangum and Joshua Mangum; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Born in Fairhope, Ala., she was the daughter of the late John H. and Jessie Childers Fondren.
