Below is the obituary for Robert Edmond (sometimes Edmund) Hodgins which appeared in The Equity newspaper (Shawville, Quebec) on 18 October 1951.

Robert married his first wife, Elizabeth Harriet Havelin (18 July 1877 – 16 May 1907) on 30 December 1896 at Saint George's Anglican Church, Thorne Centre, Pontiac Co., Que. She is buried in the Wesley Cemetery, Charteris, Pontiac Co.

Robert married his second wife, Elizabeth Rebecca Havelin (5 March 1874 – 22 August 1956) on 23 September 1907 at the Shawville Holiness Movement Church, Shawville, Pontiac Co.

His two legal wives were first cousins, not sisters as has been sometimes suggested.

Robert's twin brother was Thomas Alexander (known as Alexander). He died in 1959.

Robert Buried Monday At Age Of 78

Robert Edmond Hodgins, a life-long resident of the township of Thorne, died Saturday morning, on the farm where he was born 78 years ago. He had been seriously ill for six weeks at Hodgins [Section].
During his life time, he had engaged in farming and lumbering, and was well known throughout this district. He was the son of Thomas E. [not 'E.' - Thomas E. was different] Hodgins and Ellen Strutt. He was first married to Elizabeth Harriet Havelin who died in 1906 [should be 1907]. He later was married to Miss Rebecca Havelin, who survives.
Also left besides his wife, are two sons, Edmond, of Shawville and Bert, of Charteris, of Charteris, Que.; three daughters, Miss Selena Hodgins, of Ottawa, and Mrs. Evans Cameron, and Mrs. Harriet Hodgins, of New York, one brother, Alex of Shawville, and two sisters, Mrs. Christie Schock, of Stanwood, Wash., and Mrs. James Tubman, of Shawville, also 18 grand-children and six great-grand-children.
The funeral was held Monday afternoon from his late home to St. Matthew's Anglican church, Charteris, where the service was conducted by the rector, Rev. C.C. Watson. Interment was in the church cemetery, Charteris.
