CAMBRIDGE CITY--David A. Flannery, 52, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 8,2009 at the Reid Hospital in Richmond. David was born in New Castle on July 18,1957 and has lived most of his life in the Cambridge City community.

David had worked for the Hillside Nursery for several years and then moved to Palmetto, FL for 10 years where he worked at The Clock Restaurant. After moving back home to Cambridge City, he had been employed by Cutshaw's Family Market for the past 8 years. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed spending time with his son and other family members.

Survivors include his son, David Allen Flannery Jr. at home; longtime companion, Stephanie Randolph of Cambridge City; mother, Freda Cowin Flannery of Pershing; 5 sisters, Brenda Dunaway of Milton, Marilyn Flannery of Pershing, Marcella Flannery of Centerville, Mary Lloyd of LA and Latina Hibbard of Hagerstown; 4 brothers, Carl Flannery Sr. of Pershing, Brad Flannery of New Lisbon, Carl Flannery Jr. of Cambridge City and Billy Flannery of Straughn; nieces, nephews and cousins.

David was preceded in death by his father, Foster "Minnie Pearl" Flannery on Dec. 4,2001; several aunts and uncles.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 12,2009 at the Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Dublin. Rev Bob Flannery of Connersville will officiate. Burial will follow at South Lawn Cemetery in Dublin. Visitation will be Sunday Oct. 11,2009 from 2-6 p.m. at the funeral home.
