Danny "Joe" Strickland, 59, of Charleston, Arkansas died Tuesday, October 18, 2005, in his home. He was born April 28, 1946, in Danville, Arkansas to Garland Strickland and Flora Mae Thomas Strickland. He was a self-employed blacksmith and farmer. He loved breaking horses and was an avid hunter. He is preceded in death by one brother, Glynn Strickland.

Funeral was held at 11 a.m. Friday, October 21, 2005, at Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Little Hope Cemetery south of Paris, Arkansas under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home of Paris.

He is survived by his wife, Jeri of the home; three daughters, Jessica Lemons of Charleston, Heather Owen of Charleston, and Melissa Carter of Hackett; two sons, Jamie Strickland of Charleston and Joey Strickland of Lavaca; a sister, Ginger Matthews of Jacksonville; two brothers, Jim Barnes of Lavaca and Tom Barnes of Charleston; and six grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Owen, Phillip Sikes, Brad Barnes, Phillip McKamie, Kin Woods, Ed Storey, Ben Storey and Warren Burchfield.

Honorary pallbearers will be Steve Seaton, Bill Rainwater, Charlie Smith, Wade Neal, Royce Balance and Leon Furr.
