Mrs. Ballentine died on Thursday, July 21, 2016. She was born on June 17, 1928 in Lexington County, SC. Alice was the daughter of the late Noah G. Derrick and Eutaw Carver Derrick.
She was a former member of Salem United Methodist Church. After the death of her husband, she joined Bethlehem Lutheran Church and became a member of the Starlighters Group. Alice was formerly employed with Stone Manufacturing Company and later worked for many years with The General Electric Company. She enjoyed working in her garden as well as spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Surviving are her daughter, Janice B. Lindler (Carl David) of Chapin, Margaret Davis (Bobby) of Irmo and Edwina Harrell (Selvin) of Blythewood; seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Those who preceded her in death include her late husband, Homer Carlisle Ballentine and a sister, Sarah Lenora Derrick.
