Chal. Dunn, who had a stroke of paralysis last Monday a week ago, lingered unconsciously until about six o’clock Saturday afternoon when he died. He never spoke or ate anything from the time he was stricken. He was about forty-five years of age and leaves a wife and two children to mourn the loss of a kind husband and father. Mr. Dunn resided in our city as marshal. During the way he served in Capt. Owens’ company in Wilder’s brigade and at Selina, Ala., was shot in the neck. From this wound he has been troubled very much of late and it is thought to be the cause of his last affliction. He was a member of the Presbyterian church and the funeral services were held at that church Sunday afternoon, conducted by the pastor, Rev. Marshall. The remains were in charge of the G.A.R. Post of this city, and at the grounds they conducted the burial services of the order. The funeral was very largely attended and the death of Mr. Dunn is mourned by a host of friends in this community, besides a large circle of relatives.
