Robert Joseph Barnes, 50, passed July 15, 2016. Born in Pickens, he was the widower of Jeanette Watson Barnes and a son of Clara B. Ladd Kelly of Liberty and the late Robert Conley Barnes. He loved being outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a member of Rice’s Creek Church of God of Prophecy.
Surviving in addition to his mother are his stepfather, Fred Kelly of Liberty; 3 daughters, Margie Hall(Kyle Kunzler) of Liberty, Jessica Barnes(Craig) of Seneca and Lucy Scruggs(Chris) of Liberty; 5 sisters, Sara Fricks of Travelers Rest; Melissa Hyde of Liberty, Wendy Williams of Liberty, Becky Miller of Easley and Hope Barnes of Oklahoma; 2 brothers, John Atkinson and J.R. Barnes both of Pendleton; 7 grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Burial: Mt. Zion Cemetery.
