Alexander Blewett Dies of Heart Attack in Butte

Butte - Alexander H. Blewett, four times a member of the Montana State Legislature, died of a heart attack Sunday night after being stricken at home.

Mr. Blewett was born June 27, 1885, in Austin, Nev., and he lived in Butte since 1892.

He was a football, basketball and baseball star at Butte high school and followed athletics until his death. He was chairman of the Butte Chamber of Commerce athletic committee.

Mr. Blewett, a Republican, last was elected to the legislature in 1951. He worked for the Butte Electric Street Railway company. In late years he was group insurance plan supervisor for the Anaconda Copper Mining company.

He was a member of the Masonic orders, Woodsmen of the World, Butte YMCA and the Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, two sons, Wesley Blewett of Kennewick, Wash., and Alex Blewett of Great Falls; and two daughters, Mrs. William Hawley of Honolulu and Mrs. Robert W. Lawson of Salt Lake City.
