Reba Faye Hawkins, 87, of Crossett died Thursday, November 9, 2006, at Charlton Methodist Hospital in Dallas, TX. A lifelong resident of Crossett, she was a retired teacher for the Crossett School District with 45 years of experience and was a member of Gates Chapel A. M. E. Church.


Survivors include one sister, Ruby Maxwell of Crossett; three granddaughters, Camesia Rogers of Dallas, G'Ahnnye Hawkins of Chicago, IL, and Kelly Hawkins of St. Louis, MO; and one great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rozell Hawkins; one son, Garland Hawkins; her parents, Richard and Nona Graves Clardy; and two sisters, Lee Etta Reese and Willie B. Piggee.

Funeral services were held Friday, November 17, at 1 p.m. at Gates Chapel A. M. E. Church with Rev. Tyrone Broomfield officiating. Burial was at Westview Cemetery under the direction of Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg. Pallbearers were C. T. Foster, Donald Flentroy, Herman Newton, James Perry Johnson, James Adams and Ricky Simms.
