NICHOLAS SCHEUER (d. 1951)

Nicholas H. Scheuer, 83, retired Mishicot meat market owner, died
Sunday afternoon at the Holy Fanily Hospital, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m., Wednesday, at the Specht
Funeral Home, Mishicot, and at 10 o’clock at the Holy Cross Catholic
Church, Mishicot. The Rev. George Beth will officiate and burial will
be in the Mishicot Public Cemetery.
Mr. Scheuer was born in the town of Mishicot in 1858, son of the late
Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Scheuer. When a young man, he was business manager
of the Mishicot Brewing Company and from 1900 to 1905, was superintendent
of the Horseshoe Mining Company at Central City, Colo. Returning to
Mishicot, he founded the Scheuer Meat Market, now operated by his son
Earl.
He married Miss Coretta Thompson. She died several years ago. Survivors
are a son, Earl of Mishicot; two daughters, Mrs. Wendell Brodigan of
Detroit and Mrs. Kay Cochinet of Mishicot; brother Charles of Ottawa,
Can.; sister, Mrs. Arnold Zander of Two Rivers; four grandchildren and
five great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Mishicot Funeral Home after Tuesday noon where
the Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Tuesday.
