Death Relieves Him of His Suffering on Saturday Night

Adam J. Schrack, aged 51 years, died on Saturday evening at his home, No. 1225 West street, of Bright's disease and complications.

Mr. Schrack was born in Norristown and come to this city as a printer and started the Daily Commercial with Jenkins and Wilmer Atkinson. He was also collector for the Every Evening for a number of years, and superintendent of letter carriers in the post office. At the expiration of the term of W. Y. Swiggett he engaged in the grocery business, which he was interested in at the time of his death.

Mr. Schrack was a veteran, having served in the 138th Pennsylvania regiment and was one of the founders of Phil Sheridan Post, G. A. R. He was a member of the K. of P., A. O. U. W., I. O. R. M. and St. Paul's M. E. Church. Until a few months ago he was apparently a healthy man. A few days ago he was taken seriously ill, and death resulted.

Funeral of Adam J. Schrack

Adam J. Schrack was buried with military honors yesterday afternoon. The attendance was large and included Sheridan Post, G. A. R., representatives of Smyth and du Pont Post and delegations from Wilmington Lodge, A. O. U. W., Lenape Tribe, Imp'd. O. R. M., and Lincoln Lodge, K. of P. Services were conducted in St. Paul's Church by the Rev. R. E. Terry, assisted by Revs. Jabez Hodson and J. R. Dill. Ad address was delivered by Joseph Pyle, president of the board of trustees of St. Paul's Church, of which board the deceased was a member. St. Paul's choir sang to selections, and, by request, Mr. Terry sane "Only Remembered." The casket was rested on the national flag and the Stars and Stripes and the colors of Sheridan Post were crossed on the casket's lid. Interment was made in Riverview cemetery. At the grave services were conducted by the secret societies and a salute was fired by the firing party of Sheridan Post.
