She was one of ten children born in Northern Wisconsin where the firstborn Louis was born in Zeda-most of the children lived near Warrens/Lincoln/Grant areas before they moved to Janesville, Wisconsin where her parents had their final farming days.
Amanda and Adolph were blessed with Spencer in 1924. She struggled with health issues and died with complications.
She was survived by her husband and son along with many Birkholz nieces and nephews in Janesville area as well as Minnesota and Washington states. She left a legacy in her son and daughter in law Karen Birkholz as Spencer and Karen married many years later after Amanda's passing.
