Miss Amelia Samz, former Mishicot resident, died Sunday at St. Bernard
Hospital at Chicago. She was 83.
Funeral services will be held at 9:15 a.m. Thursday at the Mittnacht
Funeral Home, Manitowoc, and at 10 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church,
Mishicot. The Rev. George Beth will officiate and burial will be in the
church cemetery.
Miss Samz was born at Mishicot on Dec. 23, 1871, a daughter of the late
Mr. and Mrs. Edward Samz. When a young woman Miss Samz moved to Chicago
where she was employed as a seamstress and later operated her own dress-
making shop for a number of years. She also operated a rooming house.
Surviving her are two sisters, Mrs. Anna Niquette of Wisconsin Rapids and
Miss Amanda Samz of Chicago; and six brothers, Edward, Richard and Charles
of Argonne, Wis., William of Denver, Colo., and Joseph and Oscar of
Manitowoc.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 6 p.m. Tuesday where the Rosary
will be recited at 8 p.m. Wednesday.
