She is preceded in death by her parents J and Blanche Hassen, her husband John J Gleason, and her sister Barb Hassen. She is survived by her brother John Hassen of Hobbs, NM, her sons Michael (Marlene) of Twin Falls, ID, Patrick (Sandy) of Killeen, TX, Jeff (Brenda) of Clayton, CA, and five grandchildren: Amanda, Larissa, Ben, Kristin and Kevin.
Her husband John served in the United States Air Force for 25 years, so John and Marge lived in many places through those years including: Lincoln, NE, Sacramento, CA, Merced, CA, Grand Forks, ND and Sunnymead, CA.
While living in Merced in the 1970's Marjorie was a student of art and archeology at Merced Junior College and was active in the National Organization of Women, including a position as Secretary for the California Chapter.
When John retired from the Air Force in 1977, they moved to Fresno while he finished a degree in Industrial Technology. They later moved to Rancho Cordova, CA, purchased acreage in the Gold Country and built a geodesic dome home, which Marge had designed and acted as General Contractor during construction.
After the death of her husband John in 1997 she moved to Citrus Heights, CA. Marjorie has been active in the Camping Women organization since the 1980's. Marge was a founding member and served in several Board positions as well as being responsible for developing new regional chapters.
Marge was an avid outdoors woman who loved the Desert, Animals, Native American Studies, and all aspects of nature.
