Ruby Trent Garrett, 83, of Vinton, went Home to be with the Lord, on Wednesday, July 20, 2016.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Willie Ferguson Trent, her beloved husband of 37 years, Kenneth Garrett; one sister, Della Mae Thompson; and three brothers; Lloyd Trent, Joe Trent and Johnny Trent.
Ruby retired from Eli Lilly and was a member of Vinton Baptist Church.
She is survived by her six children: Brenda Adkins-Lankford and husband, Karl, Malcolm “Davis” Barbour II, Virginia “Genny” Roberts and husband, Dennis, June Fore and husband, Jerry, Jeff Garrett, Steven Garrett, and wife, Belinda; a brother, Jack Trent and wife Lois; a sister, Lucy Hill, 13 grandchildren: Georgia “Lee” Cort and husband, Steven, John “Jay” Adkins II and fiancée, Jennifer, Nicole “Nikki” Garza and husband, Chris, Sean Lankford, Chris Barbour, Luke Barbour and wife, Kendra, Todd Kincer, Elizabeth Roberts and husband, Brantley, Stephanie Agnor and fiancé, Franklin, Samantha Fitzgerald and husband, Scott, Shanna Koon and husband, Matt, Zach Garrett, Kynzie Garrett; 17 great-grandchildren: Mason Ochs, Bryce Cort, Chase Kincer, Ashton Kincer, Amelia Agnor, Piper Agnor, Hudson Boynton, Cory Barbour, Ava Jane Barbour, Carter Barbour, Christian Barbour, Lola Barbour, Jackson Fitzgerald, Peyton Fitzgerald, Noah Koon, Scarlet Adkins, Jacob Garza, and numerous other family members and friends.
A celebration of her life will be held 12:00 noon Saturday, July23, 2016 at Oakey’s Vinton Chapel. Dr. Bill Booth will officiate and interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.
