Colonel Jake C. Davis (USAF, Ret.), 88, of Scottsdale, Arizona, passed away on July 16, 2016. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Donna Marie Davis. He is survived by his two daughters: Kathy (Gene) Plum and Lori (Robert) Ziegenbein, four grandchildren: Amanda (Dan) Brown, Chelsea (Eric) Nelson, Nicholas Ziegenbein and Molly Ziegenbein along with his sister Dorothy Pitzer of Calabasas, California and numerous nieces, nephews and beloved in-laws. He was born on his father's farm near Somerton, AZ, attended Somerton Grammar and Yuma High Schools and graduated from Arizona State University with a degree in Business Administration. Colonel Davis served in the USAF from January 1951 to March, 1981. He flew 100 combat missions over North Korea in the F-51D and 221 missions over North Vietnam in the F-4D. Among his many service awards were three Distinguished Flying Crosses and fourteen Air Medals. Colonel Davis also had a career in the mortgage banking business in Phoenix for over 15 years. Visitation will be held from 10-11AM with funeral service at 11AM on Monday, July 25, 2016 at Hansen Desert Hills Chapel, 6500 E. Bell Rd, Scottsdale.
