Mrs. Rena McClure age 90, of Mt.Vernon passed away Monday July 18th, 2016 at the Rockcastle Regional Hospital after a long illness. She was born on June 28th, 1926 in Rockcastle County the daughter of the late Hugh and Jalie Mink Cromer. She was a homemaker, enjoyed cooking, sewing, spending time with her grandchildren, and was a member of the Blue Springs Church of Christ.
Survivors are: six sons; Gerald McClure of Goodletsville, TN, Roger, Wayne, Dennis, Tim, and Randy McClure all of Mt.Vernon. Five daughters; Faye Mahr of Lexington, Betty Thomas, Alene Doan, Judy Brock, and Sheryl Richardson all of Mt.Vernon. One brother; Ovie Cromer of Mt.Vernon. Three sisters; Pearl Stanley, and Mabel Prewitt both of Mt.Vernon, and Molly Thomas of Beech Grove, Ind.. Nineteen grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild also survives. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by: her husband; William McClure, by four sons; Jerry, Bentley, Willie Dale, and Bobby McClure, by three brothers; Earl, Rank, and Fred Cromer, and by one sister; Jean Cromer.
