Born at Fort Sam Houston Army Post 30 December 1923 and died 16 October 2007 Braselton, Georgia at the age of 83.
Newt proudly served his country during WWII in U.S. Army following in the footsteps of his father William Newton Ledford, a career Army officer. He retired from Quaker Oats Company.

Newt never married and is survived by nieces Karen Ledford and Laura Lou Taylor Turner. Nephews Allan Ledford and Samuel Newton Taylor.
He was proceeded in death by his parents William N. Ledford and Lula Alberta Allen Ledford. Siblings Aubrey Allen Ledford, Cleo Elizabeth Ledford Taylor and Edith Mae Ledford and nephews Joseph Southerland Taylor and Joseph Allen Taylor.
Newt was laid to rest 19 October 2007 at the Tennessee Georgia Memorial Park. He was a hard working man, who was good and decent having served his country, loved and cared for his family, and you would have enjoyed the time spent in his company.
