Services for Maria Burnett, 66, of Talihina, OK, will be held at 12:00 noon on Friday, July 22, 2016 at Little Theatre Talihina Public School in Talihina, OK, with Reverend Rodney Mattox and Justin Kirkes officiating. Pallbearers will be Carlos Lazalde, Michael Wayne Lazalde, Tre Evans, David Wayne Burnett, Josh Burnett, Matthew Lazalde, and Ryan Mattox. Honorary Pallbearers will be Arthur Brunson, Bobby John Holt, Mike Mobra, and Heston Kirkes. Burial will be King Cemetery in Buffalo Valley, OK, under the direction of Lescher-Millsap Funeral Home of Muskogee.
Maria was born on October 7, 1949 in Cantuna, Mexico and died on Tuesday, July 19, 2016 in Tulsa, OK. On May 28, 1971 Maria married Byron Wayne Burnett in Poteau, OK. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. Maria was involved in anything that involved Talihina Schools.
Survivors include her husband, Wayne Burnett of the home; two sons, Michael Wayne Lazalde and wife, Rebekah, of Hot Springs, AR, Waylon Brian “Wez” Burnett of Ada, OK; two daughters, Lisa Mattox and husband, Rodney, of Muskogee, Amanda Evans and husband, Tre, of Monroe, OK; brother, Carlos Lazalde and wife, Raylene, of Talihina; sister, Yolanda Graham, of McAlester, OK; 13 grandchildren, David Wayne Burnett, Michaela Lazalde, Matthew Lazalde, Leslie Rooke, Hannah Rooke, Ian Rooke, Joshua Burnett, Ryan Mattox, Rylee Mattox, Ryiah Mattox, Rylissa Mattox, Laney Evans, and Treyden Evans; three great-grandchildren, Brailea, Kynlee, and Gunner; numerous other relatives, friends, and loved ones.
