Otto Kiefer Dies;
Restaurateur Here
For Over 14 Years
Otto Kiefer died suddenly Monday morning, January 6, at his home here following a heart attack. For about 14 years he had been the proprietor of "Kief's Dining Car" located on the village park. Born in Cohocton February 4,1884, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Kiefer, lifelong residents of that village, he came to Avon about 1926. He was a graduate of Cohocton High School and the Rochester Business Institute. He was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church.
Surviving him are his widow, Mrs. Florence Swan Kiefer; two sons, Orin, a pilot on a transport airline in Kansas City, and Carlton, an employee of the Snider Packing Corp. in Rome, N.Y.; two daughters, Mrs. Ann West of Mt.Morris and Miss Margaret Kiefer, a student nurse in St. Mary's Hospital at Rochester; two brothers, George of Chicago, and Herman of Cohocton; three sisters, Miss Emma Kiefer of Southampton, L.I., Mrs. Carl Vogel and Mrs. Frank Wagner, both of Cohocton.
Funeral services were conducted Thursday morning from the home at 8:30 o'clock and at nine o'clock from St. Agnes Church. Interment was in St.Agnes Cemetery.
