Carrie Waunell Bowen Griffin, 70, of Waycross died Saturday afternoon (November 11, 2006) at St. Vincent's Medical Center in Jacksonville (Florida). She was a native of Pierce County, GA, and lived in Waycross for the last eleven years. Mrs. Griffin was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Woodmen of the World and was a homemaker. Her parents were the late Elijah and Mary Marie Fulford Bowen.

Survivors include her husband, Joseph "J.R." Griffin, Waycross, three daughters, Janice Hamlin (John), Callahan, FL, Sonya Oliver, (Dennis), Kathleen, GA, Annette Dean, (Eric), Alma, one son, Shey Knight (Terri), Opelika, AL, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Graveside service will be held Wednesday morning at 11:00 am at Enon Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 – 8 pm at the funeral home.
