His father, Aaron, was a teamster when younger, then became a shoemaker, the family lived in Steuben and Chautauqua counties in NY. Brother of Simon Howard b. abt. 1843, Theodore Howard b. abt. 1845, Harris Howard b. abt 1848, died as a child, Sarah Alice Howard Welch 1849-1905, Aaron Esker Howard b. abt. 1854 and Charles F. Howard, b. abt. 1857. William lived on Richmond St, was married, died in Philadelphia General Hospital of heart disease and was buried in Palmer's Jan 6, 1936.
