The funeral service for Sharon May, of Wadena and formerly of Frazee, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, July 11 at the Johnson-Schuller Chapel in Wadena with Pastor Mark Hesse presiding. Visitation will be held at the chapel on Sunday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. and will resume on Monday at the chapel from 12:30 p.m. until the time of service. Sharon, age 71, passed away on Tuesday, July 5, 2016, at the Sanford Health in Fargo, ND.
Sharon was born to Frank and Anna (Kinnen) Blauert on October 12, 1944, at the St. Mary’s Hospital in Detroit Lakes, MN. She attended school in Frazee and completed her GED. Sharon was united in marriage with William “Bill” Thomas May on February 5, 1988. She was a loving homemaker and mother. Her family will remember her as a hard-worker.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Anna; son Keith DeGroat; brother Vernon Blauert; sister Judy Totland, along with three infant sisters.
She is survived by her husband Bill; sons Curtis DeGroat, Rob May and Tim (Melissa) May; daughters Lynnette DeGroat, Paula (Terry) Birkeland, Paulette (Scott) Viste and Candace (Bernard) Damlo; 17 grandchildren & 2 great-grandchildren.
Honorary pallbearer will be Ramonia Ulschmid, with active pallbearers Robert May, Tim May, Keith Birkeland, Matt Viste, Danial Damlo, Curtis DeGroat, Scott Viste and Terry Birkeland.
Burial will be in the Wadena Cemetery, Wadena, MN.
