Late Saturday afternoon, a gentle lady of eastern North Carolina, began her journey to the next life. Elizabeth Sharon Baugh Ambrose Eaton, resident of Washington, died at home with friends and family at her side. She was born in Central City, KY on June 1, 1944 to the late Edna Earle Ray Baugh and Marion Harvey Baugh.

Sharon was an efficient and much beloved secretary at P.S. Jones Middle School for 25 years. Loved by students and faculty alike, she was affectionately known as “The Princess.” A high priority for her was reminding female faculty when they needed lipstick or had a run in their stocking. Her fingernails were always perfect and the envy of all the ladies.

Mrs. Eaton is survived by her husband Charles Edward Eaton (Chuck) who was the love of her life and saw to her every need with love and devotion during the three years of her illness. She is also survived by her two sons, Donald Wayne Ambrose of Blounts Creek, NC and Matthew Thomas Ambrose (Adriana) of Arapahoe, NC and stepson Ricky Edward Eaton of Richmond, VA. Also surviving are grandchildren Jaramy Burrus of Corpus Christi, TX., Roxann Ambrose, Travis Ambrose and Noah Ambrose, all of Washington, NC, Diego Ambrose of Arapahoe, NC, Tracy Ambrose of Greenville, and Jamie Anderson of Richmond VA, and three great-grandchildren. A cousin, Sid Cundiff of Winston Salem, NC, also survives. Great dedication and love were showered on Sharon by her beloved caregiver Genelyn Alligood of Washington NC. Sharon’s friends affectionately called Chuck, Genelyn and Sharon’s son Don “Team Sharon.”

Sharon was predeceased by her parents and a brother Jim Wesley Baugh. Of particular interest was the fact that the date of Sharon’s death was the same as her deceased Aunt Sydney’s 107th birth date.

A funeral service for Sharon will be held Wednesday, July 20,2016 at the First Baptist Church, Washington at 11 a.m. Dr. Greg Barmer will officiate. Burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery. Prior to the service, the family will receive friends at 10 a.m., in the Gathering Space of the church. Pallbearers will be Don Ambrose, Matthew Ambrose, Travis Ambrose, Noah Ambrose, Ricky Eaton, and Gary Whitehurst.

Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
