Mr. G.W. Estes, of Mount Zion, Georgia, passed away on July 16, 2016. He was 74.

Mr. Estes was born on September 22, 1941, in Cleburne County, Alabama to the late Albert and Leoneda Estes. He was retired from the construction industry where he worked for Humphries and Company. He was a Freemason and a member of Sardis Baptist Church.

He is survived by his daughter, Sylvia Borders; his sister, Neda Thompson and Virginia Cates; his brother, William A. 'Buddy' Estes, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 19, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. at Sardis Baptist Church. Prior to the services, his body will lie-in-state at the church from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow in the church cemetery where Masonic Rites will be offered.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, July 18, 2016, from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m.
