Shirley Mae Richards, age 69, a Manitowoc resident, died Wednesday
evening, July 25, 2001, at her residence.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 28, 2001, at
Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Concelebrating at the Mass of
Christian Burial will be the Rev. Dave Hoffman and the Rev. John
Schuetze with burial at Holy Cross Cemetery, Mishicot.
She was born Aug. 1, 1931, in Two Rivers, daughter of the late Arthur
and Evelyn Cheney McGinnis. On June 3, 1965, she married William
Richards in Mishicot. He preceded her in death June 3, 1998. Shirley was
vice-president of Temp-Controlled Storage Inc. of Manitowoc for many
years. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, American Legion
Auxiliary, Eagles Auxiliary, Ladies Elks Auxiliary and Ladies Golf
Association.
Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law, Kathleen Walsh,
Kellnersville, Sherrie and Dr. Gary Francar, Mishicot; two
grandchildren, Joseff Richards Francar, Samantha Rose Kathleen Francar;
a brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Mildred McGinnis, Manitowoc and
a sister, Joan Malloy, Waupaca. Also surviving are nieces, nephews,
other relatives and special friends.
The family will greet relatives and friends at The Pfeffer Funeral Home,
Manitowoc, from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Friday (TODAY) where a prayer
service will be held at 7 p.m. led by the Rev. John Schuetze. Friends
may also call Saturday morning at Sacred Heart Catholic Church from 10
a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m.
Shirley enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her
grandchildren, Joseff and Samantha. She will be sadly missed by all who
knew her.
A memorial will be set up in Shirley’s name to The American Lung
Association.
