Herbert Joseph Syring, 71, formerly of New Braunfels, Texas passed away on Wednesday, June 15, 2016. Herb was born on January 21, 1945, in San Antonio, Texas to Benjamin and Aurelia Syring. He was Vietman Navy Veteran and worked for the City of New Braunfels Fire Department and E.M.C. and Comal County Deputy Sherriff. In 1993 he moved to Nebraska where he worked for Cargill and ran his own business as a D.J. Herb is survived by his wife of forty-six years, Barbara Bishop Syring of New Braunfels/Bellwood, Nebraska; children, Kevin Syring, Sr. and his wife, Jess of Bellwood and Dawn Syring Filbert and her husband Russ of Columbus, Nebraska; 10 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren; 11 brothers and sisters; many nieces and nephews. Herb was preceded in death by his parents and two siblings. A gathering of friends and family will take place from 4 to 7:00 p.m. Monday, June 20, 2016, at Doeppenschmidt Funeral Home in New Braunfels with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 21, 2016, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Honey Creek with burial to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery/Honey Creek.
