THANK YOU TO MEMBER CSC for the updated burial information for Officer Jackson - it is greatly appreciated!
THANK YOU TO SUSIE for sending through the links to the other two officers who were killed in the Baton Rouge Ambush - due to my vision issues, she just saved me a great deal of work. =)
THE THREE OFFICERS KILLED IN THE BATON ROUGE AMBUSH:
Montrell Jackson
Matthew Gerald
Brad Garafola
"These are trying times. Please don't let hate infect your heart." - Officer Montrell Jackson, July 8, 2016 Facebook posting, following the Dallas Ambush and the deaths of five officers.
"He loved his job..." - Darnell Murdock, friend to Officer Montrell Jackson.
Officer Montrell Jackson, a ten year veteran of BLPD, was one of three police officers killed when ambushed in Baton Rouge on July 17, 2016; three other officers are fighting for their lives. The lone shooter is deceased, and a direct motive has yet to be released.
Mr. Jackson became a father in March of this year, and a Facebook post that he posted on July 8th, following the Dallas Ambush - an officer's thoughts, fears and concerns - is fittingly going viral.
In 2001, Officer Jackson was injured while trying to save a toddler from a burning home; he was known among his fellow officers as giving, courageous and willing to "go the extra mile - a good cop, proud to be a police officer."
