CHARLES S.G. HARTLE, well-known Beaver Creek farmer and county political figure, died suddenly Saturday of heart trouble. He was 65 years of age.

He served several years as Democratic registrar and clerk to the County Board of Election Supervisors, leaving the post in 1947. He was also a former member of the House of Delegates. He was a member of the Christian Church of Beaver Creek.

Born in Leitersburg, he was the son of the late George S. and Mary (Gantz) Hartle.

Besides his wife, Mrs. Edna Newcomber Hartle, he is survived by daughters, Mrs. Frank Bushey, Jr. and Mrs. Leon Wakenight, Cavetown; Mrs. Homer Cavanaugh, Jr., Smithsburg and Mrs. Richard McClain, at home; son, George M. Hartle, Manchester, Md.; and 19 grandchildren; sister, Mrs. John Harbaugh, Sharpsburg Pike; and brother, Lewis William Hartle, this city.

Funeral services at the Beaver Creek Christian Church; interment in Beaver Creek Cemetery; arrangements by the Bast Funeral Home, Boonsboro.
