Sadie F. DuPree

Jan. 1, 1927, in Parrish, Ala., and died on July 14, 2016 at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.

Sadie Francis DuPree lived in Birmingham, worked at Women's Missionary Union until retirement, then moved to Clinton, Tenn. to be near family. She attended Brewster Road Baptist Church in Birmingham and Pleasant View Baptist Church in Tennessee.

Her proudest accomplishments included the many, many lives that she mentored.

Sadie never knew a stranger and considered everyone she met a friend.

She recently discovered Facebook and enjoyed reconnecting with those she knew from previous years. Her profound impact on people's lives left a lasting impression. Small in stature but with a big heart full of love, she was quick with a hug and a smile.

Her life ministry was helping others through prayers, Bible studies, sending cards and books and spending precious time. Her legacy of caring will live on in the lives of those she has known and touched forever.

She is survived by her loving family including nieces and nephews, Linda Steward of Clinton, Ronni and Norma Stewart of Clinton, and children Scott, Keith, Ronda, Sadie Griggs of Knoxville and children Steve Hayes and Denise Hayes, Eddie and Bekki Stewart of Oak Ridge and children Jessica and Katie Stewart; and many great-nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be at Martin Oak Ridge Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 19, from 6 to 7 p.m., with a funeral service to follow.
