Son of Theodora "Dora" Elbers & Henry Behrens. Fred was married first to Emma L Otte, daughter of Mary Bonsocky (sic) & Henry Otte, on June 20th, 1906, Kane Co., IL. The couple lived in Elgin, IL & had one son, Marvin, before Emma's untimely death.
Fred remarried on January 22nd, 1914, Kane Co., IL to Lillian S Gellerman, daughter of William Gellerman & his first wife Mary Walbaum. The couple moved to Watonwan County, Minnesota with son Marvin in the 1910's. While in Minnesota, Fred & Lillian had six children together: Forrest, Fred E #1 (died young), Wallace F, Clifford, LeRoy & Fred E #2 In the 1920's the family moved to Wisconsin where their two youngest children, Delores J & Ellsworth were born. The family moved once again in the 1930's & were residing in Barrington, IL by 1940.
