STONY POINT- Sherry Ann Montgomery Thomas, 73, of Stony Point, passed away Saturday, July 16, 2016, at Iredell Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness. Sherry was born in Guilford County, Dec. 21, 1942, to the late Alonzo Lee Montgomery and Lena Topaz Dagenhart Montgomery. Sherry was a homemaker and member of Marvin United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, Sherry was preceded in death by two brothers, Hollis Dagenhart and Jennings Montgomery; and two sisters, Mozell and Hattie Montgomery. Survivors include her son, Gregory Thomas (wife, Amy), of Conover and daughter, Robin A. Andres (Juan) of Stony Point; one sister, Madeline M. Baity (Fred) of Statesville; and seven grandchildren, Elisabeth and Rebekah Thomas of Conover and Christopher, Brianna and Austin Pineda of Stony Point and Marisa and Sofia Andres, also of Stony Point. The family will receive friends Thursday, July 21, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Marvin UMC, 671 Marvin Church Court, Stony Point. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. at the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The Rev. Naomi King and Layman Jeff Carson will officiate.
