Fay Ann Aldrin Potter

Fay Ann Aldrin Potter, "The meaning of life is to find your gift. The purpose of life is to give it away." It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our mother, Fay Ann Aldrin Potter on February 28, 2012.

Fay Ann was born June 12, 1928, in Dayton, Ohio, and raised in Upper Montclair, New Jersey. As a graduate of Montclair High School, she went on to attend Hood College in Frederick, Maryland, graduating class of 1950, with a B.S. degree. She was an active member of the Gamma Delta Phi sorority and president of Alpha Psi Omega an honorary drama fraternity.

Married to Stanley C. Potter, Jr., of Woodbridge, New Jersey, in 1950, they lived in Levittown, NY, moving to Cincinnati, Ohio, from 1952-1973.

She became a resident of Marin County, CA in 1973 and loved living there until her death. She had a passion for contemporary art and was associated with the Carl Solway Gallery of Cincinnati, OH, and the William Sawyer Gallery of San Francisco, CA. Before her retirement she had a career in real estate and worked with several marin County, CA agencies, Scott McCall & Co., Prudential California and Laurel Avenue Associates.

Fay Ann is survived by her three children; Dana Ross Potter of Denver, CO, Thom C. Potter (Lydia) of Los Angeles, CA and Holly Potter Martin (Nicholau), of Flagstaff, AZ, as well as nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Madeline Crowell of Pennsylvania and brother, former astronaut Buzz Aldrin of the Apollo 11 moon landing, residing in Los Angeles, California. A private ceremony and the scattering of her ashes will be at a later date.
