Phyllis Palmer, 89, of Oskaloosa, died Friday, April 8, 1994 at Mahaska County Hospital in Oskaloosa. She was born Feb. 3, 1905 at Delta to John M. and Jennie Smith Crocker. She married Cleo Wolfe on Feb. 14, 1923; they later divorced. On June 22, 1959 she married Marion A. Palmer. He died on July 21, 1977.

She is survived by four sons and spouses, Lyle Gordon Wolfe and Lila Wolfe of Oskaloosa, David and Bertie Wolfe of Vancouver, Wash., James and Sally Wolfe of Lebanon, Ore., and Sam and Maggie Wolfe of Oregon City, Ore.; two daughters and a son-in-law, Lona McGrew of Oskaloosa, and Retha and Don Palmer of Dubuque; 11 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; a stepson, Darwin Palmer of Barnes City; a stepdaughter and husband, Dorothy and R. V. McConkey of Colorado; 20 step grandchildren; 14 step great grandchildren; two step great-great grandchildren; and a sister, Ilo Proctor of Scotts Depo, W. Va. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sisters, Chloe Crocker and Marvel Crocker; a brother, Parley Crocker; and a stepdaughter, Marilyn Riggs.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 12 at 10:30 a.m. at the Garland VanArkel-Langkamp Funeral Chapel in Oskaloosa, with the Rev. Dennis Martin of the Assembly of God Church. Burial will be at Forest Cemetery. The family will be present this evening, 7-8 p.m. to greet relatives and friends. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Mahaska County.
