Jessie May Lockhart was born to Alfred Anson and Maude Ethel Lockhart in Scurry County, Texas.
She was the fifth of their 13 children. She spent her early life milking her cow, chasing rabbits, and doing chores split between her 11 siblings.
She worked the cotton fields with her family in Snyder, Texas until 1935.

She married Jesse Emmett Lockhart on March 28, 1935 and moved to Midland, Texas. Together they lived in a tent, and worked on the Glass Ranch. They moved from there to W. W. Walls Laundry on L street. Jessie May kept the books for Mr. Walls until Jesse Emmett went into the army in December of 1942. Jessie May went home for a while, and then moved back to an apartment in Midland where she met two of her lifelong friends Juanita Burns, and Nan (Slim) Vaughn.

In 1951 Jessie Emmett began to build their house on Connell Street in Midland where they lived, and raised their four kids Donald Ray, Ronnie Lee, Linda Joyce, and Mary Ann, and ten grandkids. Jessie May worked for Kuykendall Laundry, and then MISD until she retired in 1985. She enjoyed ice Cream, watermelon, dirty jokes, game shows, and cheating at cards, but most of all she loved her family.

On July 13, 2016 Jessie went to be with our Lord. There to greet her were her husband Jesse Emmet, her sons, Donald Ray, Ronnie Lee, Son in Laws, Charles Hollowell, Larry McCurry 1, and Grandson Jerry Don Hollowell. Celebrating her Homegoing are daughters Linda Joyce Hollowell, and Mary Ann McCurry. Her Grandchildren Larry V. McCurry 11, Tracy Ann McCurry, Michael Hollowell, Kaydee Snider, Angie Valennzuela, Captain McCurry, Jeff McCurry, John Hollowell, and Christy Moser, and her 25 great grandchildren. And one Great-great grandchild.
