Gate City, VA– Alma B. Lane Kinkead, 91
Alma B. Lane Kinkead, Gate City, VA entered into rest at Holston Valley Medical Center on July 14, 2016 after a brief illness. She was born on December 23, 1924 and was the last surviving child of John and Ora Pack Blair. She was employed with the Scott County School System for 29 years in the school cafeteria. She attended Blair’s Chapel Methodist Church and Copper Creek Community Church and was of the Baptist faith. Mom had a golden heart and a great love for her family. She will be greatly missed.
She is preceded in death by the father of her children, Thomas A. Lane; two sons, Robert Lynn Lane (1968) and Hubert Glenn Lane (2014); 4 brothers and 6 sisters.
She is survived by her daughter, Ann Lane Hass (Dearl); 2 sons, Dennie Lane (Nancy) and Sherman (Buddy) Lane (Erma), and daughter-in-law, June Lane; 5 granddaughters, Sharon Lane Vermillion (Steve), Kim Lane Shelton (George), Christy Lane Dunn (David), Connie Hass Griffin (Bo) and Crystal Lane (Johnny); 2 great grandsons, Joshua Vermillion (Laken) and Tyler Shelton and 2 great granddaughters, Caitlyn Shelton and Brooklyn Morelock and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside service July 17, 2016 Strong Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Steve Vermillion, Joshua Vermillion, Bo Griffin, Johnny Jobe, George Shelton, Tyler Shelton, David Dunn and Larry Quillen. Honorary pallbearers will be John M. Mann, James Harold Mann, Paul Quillen, Warner Brickey and granddaughters.
