Mr. David Watson Shelton, age 80 of Winnfield, Louisiana passed away on Friday, August 13, 2021.
Mr. Shelton was an avid deer hunter, planted a huge garden always giving vegetables away to neighbors and friends and enjoyed his profession as a carpenter.
Born Sunday, November 3, 1940 in Atlanta, Louisiana, he was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Clarence and Eileen Lee Shelton; siblings, Cloy Shelton, Pat Shelton, Richard Shelton, Jettie Moore and Kay White; grandson, Brandon Paul Reeves.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Barbara Shirley Shelton; daughters, Tina Williford (Cole) and Cindy Cook; grandchildren, Chad Reeves, Vanessa Reeves, Chris Cook (Keri), Adam Cook (Amanda) and Rachel Short (Eric) and eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Cele Thompson, Linda Weatherford, Connie Ferguson and LaWanda Holmes; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, August 15, 2021 at Brown Cemetery with Rev. Bruce Weatherford officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield.
Pallbearers will be Adam Cook, Cole Williford, Eric Short, Frankie Shelton, Todd Shirley and Trey McCarty. Honorary pallbearers will be Scott Weatherford, Paul Weatherford, Carlton Johns, Kevin Moore and Kevin Shirley.
