Mable Elizabeth Patton Cox, better known as Mabes, departed this life to be with her parents on Thursday, June 13 2013, leaving behind her husband of sixty-three years, Dana Cox Jr.
She is also survived by their son Dana III, his wife Marie and grandson Dana IV and his wife Laura of Christiansburg; son, Jeffrey and wife Marian of Baneberry, TN; along with grandson, Jeffery Jr., his wife Krissy; and great- grandsons Ethan and Matthew; grandson, Jason and wife Corey of Philadelphia; and granddaughter Jessica of Tennessee; son, Michael Sr. and wife Kathleen of Columbus, OH; grandson, Michael Jr. and wife Kim; granddaughter, Katie with husband John; and great-grandsons Deegan and Jackson of Columbus, OH; granddaughter, Rachel; grandson, Matthew; and grandson, Sean of Cincinnati, OH; daughter, Michelle with husband James Andrews of Roanoke, VA ; along with grandsons, Jacob and Joshua also of Roanoke, VA.
The greatest joy of Mabes' life was her love of her family. Mabes' contribution to volunteer work was unequaled and her involvement with the sorority, Beta Sigma Phi brought much happiness, relationships and enjoyment to her life.
A memorial service will be conducted at a later date (to be scheduled) in Columbus, OH for family and friends.
