Wayne Womelsdorf, 72, of Slocum Township, went peacefully to be with the Lord on July 12, 2016. He was the son of the late William and Irene (Stein) Womelsdorf and the father of the late Ryan Womelsdorf.
He is survived by his loving wife of over 40 years, Lorraine (Sklaney) Womelsdorf; sister, Dona (Womelsdorf) Slotterback, and her husband, Ralph of North Carolina; children: Renee; Ronald Ridzon; Rochelle (Ridzon) Scholl and husband, Cliff; Randy Womelsdorf and wife, Leann; Billy Womelsdorf; and Robin (Womelsdorf) Swartwood; eight grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
Wayne owned and operated his own business for many years as a truck driver and heavy equipment operator. He was an avid hunter and caring friend to many.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. from the Stanley S. Stegura Funeral Home Inc., 614 S. Hanover St., Nanticoke, with the Rev. Debra North of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Nanticoke. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Dorrance.
