Madgie Nadine Kirksey Alford, 69, of the Taylortown Municipality of West End [Moore Co.], died Friday, May 5, 2006, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.
The funeral service will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Spruill’s Temple in the Taylortown Municipality of Pinehurst.... Burial will follow at Academy Heights Memorial Cemetery in Taylortown. A memorial service will be held in New York at a later date. A public viewing will be held Friday from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Simon Funeral Home in Southern Pines.
Mrs. Alford was an active member of Word of Truth Church in Vass....
Mrs. Alford is survived by her three daughters, Johnah Newsome of Rosedale, N.Y., Rosetta Pickens of Archer, Fla., and Michelle Harris of Hempstead, N.Y.; her two sons, Gregory Jacobs, of West Virginia, and John Alford III of Hempstead, N.Y.; two brothers, Robert Kirksey of Chicago, Ill., and Willie Kirksey of Pomona, Calif.; two sisters, Anna Dotson, of Seattle, Wash., and Hanna Kirksey of Shubuta, Miss.; 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
