Joe was a friendly, outgoing family man who worked in the Automobile and Marine sales industries until his retirement in 1993. He loved boating, his dogs, and traveling to Florida. Joe had many friends in Michigan and Florida who truly enriched his life. His beloved dog, Harley, was with him to the end.
Joe is remembered by two daughters, Lynn (A.J.) Veneklasen of Grand Rapids, and Nancy (Keith) Reame of Grand Haven; one son, John Coulter (Cheryl Wyborny) of West Linn, Oregon; eight grandchildren: Jami (Travis) Buth, Christopher (Jana) Veneklasen, Kelly and Nicholas Coulter, Brent (Claire) Reame, Brandon, Anthony, and Jeffrey Reame; and four great-grandchildren: Tait, Noah, Emma, and Sam; a niece and several nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Alice Coulter, and Jane Squires.
A celebration of Joe’s life will be held from 2:30 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Saturday July 19, 2014 at VanZantwick Bartels Kammeraad Funeral Home, 620 Washington Avenue Grand Haven, Michigan. In Lieu of flowers, his family invites memorials to the American Cancer Society, American Heart Association, or a charity of your choice.
