LOLA PATRICIA HARDIN LEWIS
1934 – 2016

Patricia Lewis, of Pensacola, Florida passed away on Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at the Waterford Creekside on University Parkway in Pensacola, FL. She was born July 01, 1934 to David W. and Eunice K. Hardin in Castleberry, AL.
Patricia graduated from Conecuh County High School. She attended Auburn University and Florida State University with studies in Interior Design. Later, she studied music at Pensacola Junior College and received B.A. and M.A. degrees from the University of West Florida in Elementary Education and Diagnostic and Prescription Reading Specialization.
Patricia worked as an assistant to the Director of ERDC where various program were organized to provide students with opportunities to develop interests toward making their education a more adequate fulfillment of their individual needs. She spent many years helping students to learn.
Patricia was also active as a volunteer for the American Red Cross, the Epileptic Society, the Cancer Society , the Shriners' Wives, church, and was active in the Florida Guardian Ad Litem Program since its inception, where she received an award.
Friends and relatives who knew her well enjoyed Patricia's keen sense of humor. She was known as the family "entertainer" and the "go to" person for information.
Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, David Warren Hardin and Eunice Kirkland Hardin; her husband, Clayton Hugh Lewis; her daughter, Gerri Kathleen Lewis; and her son, David Hugh Lewis.
She is survived by her sister, Kathleen Hardin Adams and brother-in-law, Hugh David Adams; nieces, Myra Whitmire (Ralph) and Holly Lewis, as well as other special relatives including, Cecil and Christine Hardin, Gail and Bill Warren, Barbara and Jim Page, Jimmy and Sharon Kirkland, and others.
Our sincere appreciation and thanks to the staff and workers at Waterford Creekside in Pensacola, FL; Regency Hospice and special nurse, Ann Williams.
A celebration of her life will be held at Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel, Monday, July 18, 2016 at 11 am. Interment will follow at Bayview Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 10 am until 11 am Monday.
Those who wish to make a contribution in lieu of flowers may contribute to Cancer Research or to the Shriners' Transportation Fund for Crippled Children at Hadji Temple.
BAYVIEW FISHER-POU CHAPEL, 3351 Scenic Highway is entrusted with arrangements.
