Funeral services for Ora L. Horgen, 92, Northwood, were held Tuesday at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Chapel. Rev. Paul Holmer officiated with interment at Deer Creek Lutheran Cemetery.
Ora died Friday, Nov. 2, 2001 at the Lutheran Retirement Home in Northwood.
Ora Horgen was born Sept. 22, 1909 to Emil and Cora (Reynolds) Ottesen in Freeborn County. On June 30, 1930 she married Melvin Horgen in Nashua, IA.
Ora was a homemaker and enjoyed crocheting, embroidery and dancing. She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Northwood and the Ladies Aid.
Survivors include son Darryl Horgen and wife Marlis of Marshalltown, IA;daughter Sharon Elwood of Austin; grandchildren, Kim Schechinger, Jon Elwood and Dan Horgen; great-grandchildren Kayline Schechinger, Kristine Schechinger and Dakota Elwood and sister Inez Johnson. Ora was preceded in death by her parents; husband Melvin; sister Crystal Erickson and brother Howard Ottesen.
