Patricia C. "Patsy" Bruno, 83, of Bonita Springs, FL died peacefully Saturday, July 9, 2016 at North Collier Hospital, Naples, FL. Formerly of Trumbull, CT, she moved to Summerfield, FL in 2005 before relocating to Bonita Springs, FL in 2010.
Pasty was born April 19, 1933 in Bridgeport, CT, daughter of the late Edward F. and Blanche (Harron) Curley. She grew up in the South End of Bridgeport and attended Sacred Heart School and Academy of Our Lady of Mercy, Lauralton Hall High School, Milford, CT. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from New Haven State Teacher's College. She also received her Master's and Sixth Year Degree in Elementary Education from Fairfield University. Mrs. Bruno taught Kindergarten at Black Rock School and most of her career at Edison Elementary School, Bridgeport, CT. She retired at age 59. She was a devout Catholic, an avid reader and enjoyed Republican politics and conservative talk radio. She also belonged to the Retired Teachers Association.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, John H. Bruno in 2015; son, William "Bill" Bruno; and siblings, Lorraine Curley, Jacqueline Curley Jones (Patrick), Edward Curley (Nancy) and Robert Curley (Beverly).
Survivors include her children, John Bruno of Orlando, FL, Jane Stephenson (Frank) of Barefoot Beach, FL and Carol Bruno of Norwalk, CT; and grandsons Sean and Chris Stephenson.
She will be laid to rest beside her husband at St. John the Evangelist Memorial Garden, Naples, FL.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 15, 2016 at 10 am in the Memorial Garden of Saint John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Naples, Florida.
