Funeral Services for Mr. Riley, will be held on Friday, July 15, 2016 , at 10:00 AM at First Baptist Church with Rev. Jay Mayo officiating. Internment will follow at Hillside Memorial Gardens. Services are under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.
Tommy was born on November 27, 1933 in Snyder, TX to W.M. "Bill" and Alma "Belle" (Connor) Riley. He married Johnie (Raughton) on May 24, 1958 in Stamford, TX. He served in the Army and was stationed in Germany.
Tommy graduated from Texas Tech University and received his Masters degree from Sul Ross University in education, while at Texas Tech he competed on the rodeo team. He was also a teacher and later principal at Hermleigh Independent school District until his retirement in 1990.
Tommy's true love was ranching on the family ranch which was homesteaded in 1896.
Tommy was a long time stockholder with the Scurry County Rodeo Association and past secretary of the board. He was also an advocate for the West Texas Rehab Center and one of the founders of the West Texas Rehab Center Christmas Ball held here in Snyder in December.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Doug Riley.
Visitation will be held Thursday, July 14, 2016 from 6 PM to 7 PM at Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.
