Mr. Clifford Turner, age 86, of Rockmart, GA passed away suddenly Tuesday, July 12, 2016.

He was born on April 3, 1930 a son of the late Melvin Turner and Cleo Adams Turner. Mr. Turner had lived the greater part of his life in Rockmart where he was a member of the First Baptist Church ; the Adult Three Mens Sunday School Class and was a member of the Davitte Lodge # 513 F & AM. He was previously a member of Aragon Baptist Church where he was ordained a Deacon on November 6, 1977. He retired from the General Electric Company of Rome with over twenty years of service. Mr. Turner was a veteran of the United States Navy serving during the Korean Conflict.

Clifford Turner was a devoted husband and father who loved his community and his church. He could often be seen walking on the Silver Comet Trail daily or outside working in his yard or helping one of his children with their yard work.

He is survived by his wife of sixty two years, Wilma Turner to whom he was married on July 4, 1954; his three children: Royce Turner, Randy Turner and Rhonda Turner all of Rockmart; two brothers: Alfred Turner, Summerville and Bobby Turner and wife Nell, Aragon; sister, Betty Meeks, Stone Mountain; two half sisters: Margaret Myer, Southside, AL and Jennifer Childers, Rockmart.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 14, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. in the Rockmart First Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Polk Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until the service hour in the Great Room of the Rockmart First Baptist Church.

The Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements for the funeral service of Mr. Clifford Turner.
